Threeve

I was thinking today, and I was trying to figure out what I would do if I could only listen to three CDs for the rest of my life. Or read three books. Or see five works of art, watch three movies, sit on five couches--whatever. So I decided to ask for a little feedback from my blogdom.

Please leave a comment and tell me what you would do if you could only have 3-5 of whatever it is that you enjoy. And maybe, if you are good little commenters, I will tell you what 3-5 Cds, books, etc. I would choose.

Movies: Godfather Pt. 1&2, Rounders, Good Will Hunting, Pulp Fiction

Godfather: What needs to be said? Brando and a young Pacino acting out amazing writing. Also, ppl get wacked. What's not to like?

Rounders: For the degenerate gambler in me. Ed Norton's best work save fight club.

Good Will Hunting: Two matt damon movies you say? He doesn't get enough credit as an actor in my opinion. The run of performances from '97 to '99 in Good Will Hunting, Saving Private Ryan, Rounders, and Dogma isn't matched by many actors. Lately its all been crap, but anyway back on topic. Good Will Hunting, great story, well written well acted.

Pulp Fiction: If John Travolta is good in a movie you know the directing and writing have to be second to none. Quentin Tarantino's best work. Samuel L Jackson is simply amazing in his role.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."
--Could you picture anyone else delivering that line?

Ok that's far too much typing for a comment.

Not sure about anything else but I would have to have a two-three-four CD set of all of Bach. His music is quite simply, perfection

"...a combonation of 3 and 5. And you wagered Texas with a $. I'm speechless."

you have no idea how much that quote just made my day.

I'll post my "threeve" of everything a little bit later. But that quote was too priceless to no comment on.

Brier,

I think you might be unclear on the concept of "threeve". "Threeve" is a combination of three and five. So a list of "threeve things" would necessarily be between three and five, or under a loose interpretation, some multiple of three and five. You listed seven books. I'm going to have to call you an idiot.

Actually loose interpretation is any combination of three and five, i.e. 8, 15, 35, 53. You're still the idiot.

After trying my best to complie my list of top threeve movies, books, and albums, I decided that the list itself is to exhaustive. Everthing needs to be broken down categorically. I don't have like a "favorite" in movies, music, or books (or t.v. just for good mesure). So, take sollace in this Dale: you have inspired me to make a list of my favs in all of these, categorically breaking them down. I am going to make up insane categories too, like "favorite facial hair on an athlete in the 70's", no joke. This is going to be a weekly thing too, now that I'm in watertown for the summer. I just need to make sure that I can internet access (hello public library).

ok, after thinking about it more, I've decided that posting my "Threeve" lists are:

A.) Too exhausitve. I have so many diversified lists (more on that in a 2nd).

and B.)I don't want to incriminate/ offend people who read my blog that may get offended. I've come up with some GREAT Lists though such as

Best Tarintino movies (Ryan is wrong; Pulp Fiction is great, but Resivior Dogs and Jackie Brown are WAY better)

Greatest Opening Gutiar rifts (this could be good)

TV shows that aren't on DVD that need to be (I've watched way to much TV, thats all this list means)

Chick flicks that are deemed ok to watch without your signifigant other (ok, this list might not actually exist, but its thought stiring).

Favorite crappy movie that you'll end up watching no matter how many times you've seen it before or how crappy it really is (or in other words, anything involving Sly Stalone or Wesley Snipes....ofcourse that means "Demolition Man" is #1).

I've got so many more lists where these have came from. But Justin insists that the point of the "threeve" list to list favorites. I have favorites by categories. Its the way I is.

Is this acceptable policy? Should I have just posted this on my blog?
